Week 6 of Summer Break/ Cub Day Camp

Brock loved Cub Camp. He had gone to the day care area a few times when I helped with Ethan at camp but this was his first year being a cub himself. He came home every day excited about all the cool stuff they made and did. It was a fun week for all!
Brock at the snack station. They made Bananas rolled in grapnuts, Cinnamon and sugar. It was actually pretty good.

Brock loved the rock station. He got to break open his own thunder egg. It was a really cool one too!

Brock's shooting improved everyday. The first day he hardly ever hit the paper. The next day he made lots of holes and even a couple bulls eyes! He got better and better each day!

After spending the morning with Brock at day camp I spent the afternoon with Ethan. This is the only year that they will over lap in Cub Scouts so next 2 years I will just be with Brock like the last 2 years have been with Ethan. All the boys' favorite stations are BB guns and archery. Every day I would ask what was your favorite part they always said archery! I didn't get pictures of Brock doing archery because he did it in the afternoon after Ethan had already been there. Funny thing is that Brock got a bulls eye at archery. What makes it even funnier is the sister that had swapped boys with me told me that Brock's bulls eye was the only arrow that even hit the paper!

Ethan playing a team work game at camp.

This is what Ruth thought of the hole thing! Actually she was a very good girl. She napped, and was happy when she was awake. She was ready to get DOWN and play on the floor when we got home though! She was sick of the snugglie and stroller. But very patient!

While the boys were at camp the girls and I went grocery shopping, they played with friends the day I helped, we went to the library, and picnic in the park and the last day we went fabric shopping. We jammed the week full but everyone had fun! I will post this next week Ruth's new tricks! (sitting up!)
Oh we also during the weekend did some house work, and attended the wards Pioneer Day activity. It was a lot of fun!

Week 5 of Summer break!

This last week was pretty fun. It was pretty relaxing. The kids played a lot and we got lots done! We ended the week with a really fun camping trip. We had planned to go with our friends the Cooper-Leavitt's and some of our other friends from the ward ended up camping right next door! What luck! It was sooo much fun. We put the kids to bed and we stayed by the camp fire till late in the night just visiting and getting to know each other better! But here are some pictures of the fun we had this past week! Next week is Cub Camp Hopefully I will get some pictures of show of that for next week. I am only going one day to help out. We have jam packed the rest of the week with boy free activities!
Brock was helping Ethan weed the garden this past week and was very very excited to find this worm!!! I thought it was gross but pretty cool!

Brock's big worm!

My pool boy! He does a good job of keeping the pool cleaned out. It has been so much fun having this pool. I have to admit it makes me never want to pack everyone up to go to the public pool again! So nice to open the door and jump in! Oh and Hayden can can nap in the middle of it all!

LOVE this face and this sweet girl!

Boat full of fun! Look close that is the only picture I got of the boys! They were so busy I never got a chance to get a picture of them!

I love this picture because Hayden is really "deep" in the water. I say that because she is my kid who usually stands on the side throwing rocks, and rarely gets in deeper in then her knees. But she loves to play with Ava and Amelia so she just followed them out. It was so cute watching them pretend to defend the castle from "bad guys" with their water guns!

Ruth had a nice nap on the blanket while the girls were swimming and the boys were on the boat.

Ava and Amelia had a great time on the tubes! They were so cute, and so brave!

Summer break week 4!

Saturday morning the three middle kids helped me make 2 batches of cherry jam. They were very helpful and had lots of fun!

Great day at the beach!

Friday afternoon we made a trip to the beach. It was cloudy but warm and no wind. So it was perfect. The kids had so much fun. Even Ruth enjoyed herself for a while!

The boys did a music camp this week and had lots of fun. This was the only picture that wasn't blurry! But I got lots of video. They spent 3 hours each day learning songs, playing instruments, and learning a play that they performed Friday for all the moms. The play was Peter Pan and very funny.

The girls enjoying the pool on one of our extra hot days this week!

This is what Ruth did while we played in the pool one afternoon. She had lots of fun!

ON top of all these activities Ethan also mowed Larry's parents grass (while the rest of us picked blue berries) and he mowed Larry's grandma's grass. Both on one of the hottest days of the week. But he was such a trooper and did a great job! We rushed home and jumped in the pool! Including me! Later we walked to Dairy Queen with some friends and got ice cream at 8:00 pm.

Week 3 of Summer break/ 4th of July

This year we did all our celebrating on the 3rd of July as the 4th was Sunday. We started with the ward's annual Cinnamon rolls, and flag raising! This year it was followed by a softball game. It was 1st ward vs. 3rd ward! 1st ward totally creamed them!!! It was like 8 to 2. But I have to admit we only had one person on our team under the age of 18 and the other ward half their players were. It was a lot of fun and only one injury! But nothing to major thankfully just a bruise. We had our BBQ in the afternoon and then went down to the river for fireworks. Here they do them for a few days. It was a lot of fun. On the 4th we lit off our fireworks at home after having Family Home Evening!

Ruth Looking cool!
The swings are always a hit! I think only one kid got kicked by a person swinging this year. Must be some kind of record!

Ruth loved all the excitement! Not that there isn't plenty of that on a regular basis but this was a much larger scale! She is a party animal!

Our annual BBQ was a lot of fun! Some of our regulars weren't here this year and they were missed but we all still had a lot of fun!

The big pool was a hit too. It was nice to have this and the kids have a lot of fun!

A bunch of the kids enjoying the "hot tub" That is what they were calling the little pool since it warms up faster.
