Look What I Did

For MONTHS our girls doll stroller has been falling apart. I keep safety pinning it and rigging it so it might stay put because Ruth freaks out when the baby won't stay put because the fabric is falling apart... anyway for a few weeks it has been just naked bars. The other night I told Larry if I could find the fabric part that came off I was going to take it apart, use it as a pattern and make a new one. I found it this morning and went to town! I was so excited at out easy it was and how quick I finished. It took me less than an hour and I could have been faster but I have 7 kids under 5 at my house today! It turned out totally cute, hopefully stronger then the cheep crappy one that came on the stroller! RUTH LOVES IT! She won't let anyone else touch it!
I love it when what I have in my mind works out. I am not the most confident sewer but I have improved a ton over the last year. I have really made it a goal to become good at sewing, I made Amelia's baptism dress, and several other major projects. But this one I just winged it and was SO happy with the out come! I didn't have to go buy anything, just used cute fabric and ribbon I had on hand and took the buckle off the old one that had fallen apart! LOVE IT!

Brock turns 10!

Brock turned 10 on the 22nd! 10 is kind of a big deal that is 2 whole hands! Double digits! I asked Brock what he wanted for his birthday dinner and he said, "that place where you can eat what ever you want" He meant Hometown Buffet. My kids love this place because they can get lots of different things! Funny! All I usually eat here is salad, and dessert. They had a blast! Brock filled a giant ice cream bowl and then we sang Happy Birthday, and he opened his presents.
Grandma and Grandpa Davis got him some Lego's ALWAYS a hit!
From us he got a Dino shirt and this super cool Dinosaur trunk! It is 2 things he loves, dinosaurs, and something to store stuff in! He rearranges the stuff he has put in there at least once a day!
He also got a bunch of Webkinz for his birthday. That is actually all he asked for! He loves those things!
For his party the next day we took him and a few friends to this AMAZING lady's art studio. She hosted the "party" by putting together an art class with projects for them to do, she even did "goody" bags. They each got a sketch pad, and art pencil to take along with the projects they made. They made these cool dinosaur puppets.

The kids all seemed to have a good time painting and decorating their dinosaurs. They took their time adding textures and all kinds of fun stuff!

Brock wanted an ice cream cake... so it isn't pretty! But I tried to put a dinosaur on top but because it was frosted with cool whip the frosting didn't want to stick so I had a hard time at it. Then when I was done Brock informed me I needed to sprinkle brownie pieces on the cake so yes it looks messy but it was soooo good! It was chocolate cake, cherry ice cream, hot fudge, and oreo's all layered!

Zoo feild trip and Mothers Day weekend...

So Larry bought me another new camera... didn't like the one I bought, so I was playing with it on our zoo trip. I like it a lot better and will return the other one! Here the cuties are looking at the Mt. Goats.

Leopards. Ruth was so good at the zoo! She didn't fight the stroller (this is a major miracle if you know Ruth). I let her get out when we were looking at animals and she rode to the next animal and she stayed with me and never tried to run off!!! It was probably the most relaxing trip to the zoo I have ever had!

She loved the tigers! This one was really active he wandered around and then hiked up the hill right at us. Ruth loved roaring and making all the animals sounds to each animal we saw!
 She loved the Zebra!

 Hippos, Rhinos

The Lions were a hit! They loved the statues and the animals. They were napping when we got there and then they woke up! Even the "daddy" lion did wake up after this picture.

Lion rides and a dental check up!
Ruth LOVED this monkey! He swung across the top like monkey bars and she thought it was SO funny!

Saturday the boys helped Daddy on our roof. Don't send me crazy messages about how wrong it is! They ALL have harnesses on!

The girls helped me plant the garden... This is the small part of the garden, we just put the beans and lettuce here. We also planted 30 tomatoes, 6 cucumbers, 9 different peppers, and several other things.
When all that hard work was done it was time to cool off in the sprinklers!

Ethan got a taste of mom's water fighting skills... unfortunately he got me back! :)
