I have 4 nieces with April birthdays! 2 of them share the 6th, one the 7th,and one the 12th. In fact I'm the only one of my siblings with out a kid born in April! We had a big party at Pietro's in Beaverton. The kids all had a blast! It was the first time all the grandkids had been together since Christmas. Larry didn't get to go because he had the flu.

Brock turns 10!
Brock turned 10 on the 22nd! 10 is kind of a big deal that is 2 whole hands! Double digits! I asked Brock what he wanted for his birthday dinner and he said, "that place where you can eat what ever you want" He meant Hometown Buffet. My kids love this place because they can get lots of different things! Funny! All I usually eat here is salad, and dessert. They had a blast! Brock filled a giant ice cream bowl and then we sang Happy Birthday, and he opened his presents.
Grandma and Grandpa Davis got him some Lego's ALWAYS a hit!
From us he got a Dino shirt and this super cool Dinosaur trunk! It is 2 things he loves, dinosaurs, and something to store stuff in! He rearranges the stuff he has put in there at least once a day!
He also got a bunch of Webkinz for his birthday. That is actually all he asked for! He loves those things!
For his party the next day we took him and a few friends to this AMAZING lady's art studio. She hosted the "party" by putting together an art class with projects for them to do, she even did "goody" bags. They each got a sketch pad, and art pencil to take along with the projects they made. They made these cool dinosaur puppets.
The kids all seemed to have a good time painting and decorating their dinosaurs. They took their time adding textures and all kinds of fun stuff!
Brock wanted an ice cream cake... so it isn't pretty! But I tried to put a dinosaur on top but because it was frosted with cool whip the frosting didn't want to stick so I had a hard time at it. Then when I was done Brock informed me I needed to sprinkle brownie pieces on the cake so yes it looks messy but it was soooo good! It was chocolate cake, cherry ice cream, hot fudge, and oreo's all layered!

Spokane Trip/ Best Suprise EVER!
So when I was in Young Women's I had the most amazing leader! She literally changed my life and how I think, feel and see things. Not a day goes by still that the things she did for me, with me or taught me don't influence me, or I think about her. So she is AMAZING! I got a message about a month ago that her kids (my friends from growing up) were throwing her a surprise party for her birthday. I was so excited I knew I was going to go. I wasn't sure how yet but I was going to go. I hadn't seen her since Logan (her son that is my age) got married and I think I was pregnant with Brock then. He is almost 10. He might have been a tiny baby I am not sure. So it has been WAY to long since I have seen any of the Dittos. I ended up buying a plane ticket for just me to fly out early the morning of the party. I had such a great time. I spent most of that day with Debbie's sisters and parents, shopping. That was fun and quiet the adventure. Then we got to the party early to help a little with the getting ready.
I loved the decorations. Done in her Favorite colors. The food was great! And the Entertainment the best. But anyone who knows the Dittos knows the really know how to party!
She truly was surprised! It was so fun! My only regret was not staying longer. I would have loved to have had more time to visit with her. There were lots of people there and the program again was awesome. I laughed so much and had lots of great memories!
At the end each one of her grand kids and kids brought her a flower. It was soooo sweet!
This last one is Debbie and I! I am so glad I got to go. I get to see all the grandkids (well the ones that have blogs) grow. I read about all the things the families are doing and it was kind of funny getting to see them in person because all of a sudden I realized THEY have never met me! I know them, who they are their names.... but they don't know me! I felt almost like a stalker. It was a little funny. But so worth the trip! I hope to see them all again soon. Much sooner then 10 years!
Happy birthday Debbie!

Hayden's 5th Birthday
So it isn't actually Hayden's birthday yet... but it is this coming Thursday. Which also happens to be in the middle of the bazaar. So we celebrated with friends Saturday. It was a lot of fun. Hayden planned most of it I hardly did anything. It was a fairy party. They played Fairy Fairy Troll. (Duck Duck Goose)
This is a couple pictures of a game Hayden made up. It is fairy's get chased by the Alligators. All the girls were fairies, and would fly around and the boys were the alligators and had to chomp them. If you got chomped you were out, last one in was the winner. (I gave the winner of each round a piece of Halloween Candy)
Hayden "wanted" cake pops. (I say "wanted" because I kind of talked her into them. Mostly because I had been wanting to make some and I wanted to make some for the bazaar and I knew I would have enough left over I could sell them at the bazaar... You know just multitasking) They were yummy though and she got to help make them!
Oh she also didn't want ice cream (which shocked me because she LOVES ice cream) But I think the thought of getting to choose what ever you want made her think that this was the chance to get some Dora Popcycles! (Since I always say no to those things they are a total rip off! But that is what she wanted for her birthday party so that is what she got!) She will be having Ice Cream cake on her birthday. (Another thing to make my life easier during bazaar week. Although she LOVES that part too!!!)
Claire got her this play dough set which she spent the rest of her day painting and doing play dough.

Halloween
Halloween day my kids didn't have school. It was an inservice day. So I thought it would be fun to throw a Halloween party for the kids. I have ALWAYS wanted to do this and never thought we had a good time to do it between school and other activities that fill up the time. So since we had the whole day off I went for it. We played musical "chairs" it was really on papers.
Classic eat donuts from a string game!
We also played pin the face on the jack o lantern, and we had lunch I wish I had taken pictures of it. I made "mummies" (hot dogs wrapped like mummies), Brains, (jello mold), Lips and teeth (apple slices with mini marshmallows between two slices) and bones, (yogurt covered pretzels) I also made Skeleton cupcakes, and pumpkin rice krispy treats. It was all a lot of fun. Just don't ask my kids if mom will ever do this for them again.... I typically like to share the fun stuff we do but let me just say the party was FUN! But getting my kids to get ready or clean up after the party was NOT so I told them I may never do it again. Mostly because I had done all the prep work, went to Vegas and came home the day before, and needed to get a ton of other stuff done for the bazaar... Not my favorite Halloween, but the party part was a lot of fun. I probably will do it again, just not the day after I get home from a trip out of town.
I had a hard time getting excited about Halloween this year because we couldn't decide on costumes I really liked that were going to take little to NO effort on my part, like I said, I went to Vegas and I am getting ready for the bazaar that is literally days away! Finally I needed a last minute idea for Brock the week before for a party and I told him I could wrap him in TP and he could be a mummy or I would cut a sheet and he could be a ghost. All the kids loved his ghost costume so much we all were ghosts. It was super fast and easy for me so away we went! Even Ruth loved it! She didn't want to take it off and wanted to wear it every day after I had cut them up. Some times it was ALL she wanted to wear. It was kind of funny watching a tiny person run around with nothing but a tiny sheet on! So cute!!!

Ethan's 10!
Today is Ethan's 10th Birthday! Saturday we had his party with his friends. We just took the boys to the park and played Lazar tag, then had pizza, and lemon meringue pie. It was a lot of fun watching boys just running around being boys.
I love this picture. I just told the boys I wanted to get a picture of them together before they ran off to play and they just posed so "manly" for me. Boys and guns! There was Jacob, Ethan, Eli, Joshua, and Caleb
Ethan the mighty hunter, and Eli below.
Ethan decided this year he wanted lemon meringue pie. He was having a hard time picking a cake idea and I finally told him, you know you can have pie, or any other desert you want! He was pretty excited about that idea! Since we were going to the park with his friends I thought little mini pies would be easier then cutting pie,and all that. So I made these cupcake sized pies. They were so cute and so much fun! The boys liked them to for the most part. I made a big pie for tonight for the real birthday.

Amelia wanted a "Fancy Nancy" party. We asked everyone to come dressed up and we had lots of fancy things planned!
We played the "fancy" version of duck duck goose, called "tisket a tasket." We use to play this when I was younger for FHE. It is cute with 6 year old girls it is hilarious with teenage boys and my parents!!!

We had a dressed up relay race. The girls had to put on the dress up shoes, jewelry, and crown then carry an egg around the stool and then take off the stuff and tag the next girl. It was a hit! (yes I hard boiled the egg!)

Amelia wanted them to dance too so we turned on our trusty Taylor Swift music and away they went. Let me just say that for 6 year olds they had some Fancy moves!

The girls got to make their cup cakes fancy with as many sprinkles as they wanted. I had frosted them ahead of time and then put out ever sprinkle we own and let me just say we have LOTS! (Although now my stash is significantly smaller!) But they sure had a good time making them "Fancy"! My floor is pretty fancy now too.

The 3rd Brithday Party!
Here is my second attempt at the Monkey cake. Which I think turned out better. They usually do after a practice run. She loved it! It was really yummy to. How could it not be with all that chocolate and candy on it!

Memory and Candy land are the presents she got on her actual birthday and she loves them. So they had to play those games!

Amelia did a great job of running the games while I sat feeding Ruth and watching. They played ring around the rosie and duck duck goose. Which was apparently new to the 3 year olds. They had a lot of fun learning and loved running around the "circle".

Hayden got this cute little Doctor kit from Matthew for her birthday. She went right to work. She gave Claire a check up and even took her Health history. It was pretty funny, and so cute! It was funny when she was doing the "history" for Claire she said "what's your name Claire?" Then she checked her nose and said yep you have buggers. Gotta love it!
