Catching up.... Spring at the Davis house and WHY I haven't posted in over a month...

 In March my Brother and Sister in law went to Hawaii and we got to have two of their kids for the week. It was so much fun! Tyrah and MacQuarrie are so much fun and great kids. On the last day they were here the girls played dress up and had a great time!

Oh and during this week Larry and I also had our 14th wedding anniversary. It was a super busy day. We had 7 to 12 kids at our house all day long,and  I ate dinner at mutual for the etiquette dinner. But totally worth it! It was an anniversary but at the same time we had really celebrated last month with 2 nights away and I knew that we were doing what was really important. I love him everyday!

 MacQuarrie just thought it was fun to watch. He sure is is fun kid!

 The next week was spring break. It was a lot of "fun" It was SUPER busy that day but the weather was just about perfect. Not to cold and not raining! So here are my Eaglets in the nest.

 By the end of the day I wished this was a real lion!!!!

 The baby elephant Lily was the highlight of the day. Her mom pooped and peed and she ran over to it, smelled it and ran away. My kids thought this was SOOOOOO FUNNY! Even Ruth told everyone we saw for several days about this event!

 The other activities we did during spring break was we went to the movies one day and saw the "Croods" so funny! We all had a great time. One day we had to go shoe shopping. Ethan needed new shoes for track, Amelia needed new boots, and tennis shoes for volleyball. That was a fun day. Shoe shopping with 5 kids!!! We tried to make it fun, we did go out for lunch. Then on one day Brock and I got to go to a Blazer vs. Jazz game. It was lots of fun! Jazz won! We got to go out to dinner to. This was suppose to be a Larry, Me, Ethan and Brock date, but due to some Behavior malfunctions Ethan didn't get to go and due to some work malfunctions Larry couldn't go so Brock and I went with our friends Todd and Allison Bevans. It was fun. Brock loved the dinner, and snow cones! Over all it was a great week, and month! Now we are half way into April!

 Easter was the last weekend of Spring break. That Saturday Larry and I had gone to the temple then came home and colored eggs with the kids. Ruth LOVED this and had a great time. She was pretty sad when she broke one but quickly learned that she was not the only one to break one so it was all OK.

 A few shots of them in their super cute Easter clothes. I couldn't get one where they were all "normal" so there are a few just cute ones.

 We didn't all "match" this year but I did color coordinate all the outfits which was fun. All different but go together.

 Today's big event was Brock has wanted to learn guitar and I found a teacher so today we went looking for the guitar. I was just going to buy one off craigslist but we ended up going into a store figuring we would just learn how to shop for one and wound up finding one that was a great price and had all the warranty stuff you don't get buying used. The sales man was so nice to Brock and really helped us feel like we knew what we were looking for, and that we were getting the right one. It was a great deal and are super excited to hear some music coming from it! Lessons start this week and Brock promises to practice. Brock and I are even going to attend a free group class there at the store next week just for fun.

Spring Flowers 2011

Most years if there is a day when the trees at the capital are blooming and it is not raining I take my kids to take pictures there. I think it is such a pretty setting... If only I knew how to use my camera better... and how to get my kids to look like they are having fun... Oh well I think they turned out nice enough.



Pretty Amelia... I am not sure if I am really that boring or what but none of my kids were very smiley. They were having fun while we were there as long as the camera wasn't pointing at them...or they give me really really fake smiles...

Pretty little Hayden! She hardly ever smiles at the camera anymore! She makes me laugh all the time, just not when I am trying to do pictures usually!

Sweet Ruth has hit that magical age of run away and don't look at the camera... I lucked out and got this one of just her, with some peek a boo, and lots of help from daddy. As you can tell the rest with her in it don't typically have her attention!

Sun breaks

We had a few sun breaks on Thursday and my kids and I took advatage of it! Ruth LOVED being outside! All of us did really! But this is a first for Ruth since she has been walking. I sat and read a book and just watched them play for a little while.

Spring break

Today was our first day of spring break that it isn't raining. So we thought we would seize the moment and get the sidewalk chalk out! My kids love to be creative so I knew this would keep them busy till they ran out of side walk!

Hayden loved to just color what ever. She started by just doodling and made a very cute pile of colors. But then when she started trying to color everyone's pictures I drew her a little butterfly to color! She actually does a very good job for a 2 year old!!! (Notice the boots that are more then 4 sizes to big she just loves her sisters boots!)

I drew a rainbow (the one on top) Ethan loved it so much he had to make one too!

As many of you know Brock is obsessed with dinosaurs! I drew him a long neck that went clear across the street. They all went to work coloring him and Brock added the spikes to his back!

Spring Teaser!

This weekend the weather was so beautiful we did a bunch of fun stuff. I spent a lot of time in the afternoon pushing swings. This is one of my kids favorites. But the first thing we did was get Amelia's Bunk bed set up. I bought it clear back in September, from a friend, knowing we would need it eventually.... I kept it at her house till this weekend. We thought we would finally get it out of their way. Hayden won't be ready for a big girl bed for another 6 months or so but this gives Amelia time to get use to sleeping on the top bunk. She loves it! After the bed was all set up I left for a baptism and Larry and Ethan set to work on a Pinewood Derby car! Ethan had so much fun designing it and getting to use all the tools. He has used my saw before so this wasn't something new to him but very exciting anyway!
Ethan cutting out his Pinewood Derby car! I can't believe he is old enough for this. Just a year ago when I took him to watch one he was certain they weren't going to be doing this when he was 8! I assured him they would! Good thing somethings don't change!
Here are the kids doing some out door painting (my favorite place for it!) They had a lot of fun! In between putting coats of primer and paint on the Derby car Ethan joined the others for some painting. They love to do crafts, and projects and I thought it was a nice day to let them make a mess outside!


Hayden loves to be outside! She love swinging, throwing balls, just running around in the yard! She was in heaven this weekend and I know she will love summer! The main problem will be keeping her dry I think. She will want to climb in the wading pool every time she goes out the door. I am not sure what I will do about that. But I know it will be great for her! I love this picture. You can kind of see her post nap crazy hair, and pudgy cheeks!
